Unique 10 Cu/Ft Propane Refrigerator
Questions about this product
Questions about this product
Do I need 110V power to run this fridge?
No. It runs on propane full-time with battery ignition and a battery-powered interior light. The 110V cord is only for backup electric operation. If you choose to run it on AC, the draw is about 300 W at 2.5 A. Ignition uses an AAA battery and the interior light uses four AA batteries.
How much propane does it use, and how long will a tank last?
Approx. 1.4 lb of LPG in a 24-hour period. That’s roughly 0.33 US gal per day. A 100 lb cylinder typically gives about 70 days of continuous use, and a 20 lb cylinder about 14 days. Actual runtime varies with room temperature and thermostat setting.
Do I need the Direct Vent model or the CO Alarming Device model?
Direct Vent (DV) sends combustion air in and exhaust out through the wall. Choose DV if your space is tight or you want all exhaust outside. You cannot convert a standard model to DV. Buy the DV version if you want venting. The standard CO Alarming Device model vents into the room and, in Canada, must be installed only in areas not normally occupied or used for sleeping and must have the
What gas regulator and hookup do I need?
Use an LP regulator set to 11 inches water column, with supply pressure between 11 and 12 inches WC. Gas connection is 3/8 inch SAE male flare. Installation must be done by a licensed gas fitter, and all joints must be leak-tested. Isolate the appliance during any pressure test above 1/2 psig.
Any install tips to avoid odors and performance issues?
Keep clearances of 6 inches on top, 2 inches on each side, and 1 inch at the rear. Install the heat shield as supplied. Level the fridge front-to-back and side-to-side or cooling performance will suffer. Provide good airflow behind the unit and clean the flue and burner annually. If you choose DV, mount on an exterior wall and use the proper vent kit components.

The Unique 10 is the perfect mid-sized propane fridge. At 9.7 cu/ft total, with a 2.1 cu/ft freezer, this fridge is a step up in size from the old Consuls/Dometic or Servels, and has a much larger freezer for staying a week+ at the summer home. Unique has ensured that the Unique 10 has the same width as the older Consuls/Dometic or Servels (at 23.5″ wide, fits within a 24″ counter opening). Receiving Freight Shipments
For large freight deliveries, you will receive a call from the carrier or your nearest terminal when your order is ready for pickup or delivery.
Important: Always inspect your shipment before signing any paperwork.
If the box or pallet is damaged:
- Do not sign the Bill of Lading (BOL) as "received in good condition"
- Instead, note the damage clearly on the BOL
- Or refuse the shipment if damage is significant
If no damage is recorded and the shipment is accepted, the freight carrier will consider it delivered in perfect condition. In that case, we cannot issue a refund or replacement. This is a strict freight carrier policy and applies to all deliveries.
Damaged or Missing Items
If there’s an issue with your shipment (whether it’s damage, missing parts, or anything unusual) please contact us within 48 hours of receiving the item. Be sure to include photos whenever possible, as these are often required to file a freight claim on your behalf. If the item was shipped to a terminal, it must be picked up within 48 hours or a $45/day storage fee will apply.
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. Shipping costs back to Canadian Off Grid are the responsibility of the customer and 15% restocking fee will apply.
To start a return, you can contact us atryan@canadianoffgriddepot.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll contact you to discuss options, as well as instructions on how and where to return your item. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
