This replacement thermocouple is designed specifically for use with the Martin MDV series direct vent wall heaters. It monitors flame temperature and automatically shuts off the gas supply if the flame goes out, ensuring safe operation. Built for durability and ease of installation.

Features

  • Flame-sensing thermocouple rated for use in Martin MDV direct vent models

  • Automatically cuts off the gas valve when the pilot or flame is lost, enhancing safety

  • Corrosion-resistant materials and reliable construction ensure long service life

  • Plug-and-play compatibility with Martin MDV “Direct Vent” wall heater models for quick replacement

  • Adequate length (approx. 36 inches) to fit typical installation routing inside unit and wall cavity

Maintaining a properly functioning thermocouple is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of your Martin wall heater. A worn or faulty thermocouple can lead to pilot failure, constant burner shut-off, safety hazards, or inefficient heating. This replacement part restores the flame sensing system to factory-level safety, providing confidence in the heater’s performance. It’s cost-effective, straightforward to install, and helps avoid more expensive repairs in the future.

Installation & Compatibility

This thermocouple is compatible with all Martin MDV direct vent wall heaters, both natural gas and propane, when the original thermocouple fails. To install, remove the front cover of the heater, disconnect the old thermocouple at the gas valve and flame assembly, and then insert the new unit according to the manufacturer’s instructions. If required, use only qualified service personnel. Refer to the Martin MDV installation and parts manual for safe removal and repositioning of the flame sensor probe.

Material & Maintenance

This thermocouple features a copper sensing tube and a brass threaded connector, ensuring reliable conduction and corrosion resistance. To maintain performance, keep the sensing tip clean and positioned correctly in the flame path. A small accumulation of soot or debris can reduce output and trigger a flame-loss shut-off.
